on that note

abbazabba:

that doesn’t mean i think humans are naturally good. we’re blinded and ignorant and self absorbed and limited. but that’s the thing about grace, and His grace. it really wouldn’t be grace if we were perfect. i have an optimistic view on human beings because i’ve witnessed grace and redemption, and the ultimate example of both of those.

I’ve been a bit m.i.a. from tumblr lately, but I kind of find it less entertaining, now that it’s summer. ironically though, I haven’t been doing much lately either, besides a day at disneyland (finally putting my pass to use), a quick trip to chicago, and a lot of baking. a lot (will post pictures). but other than that, summer is pretty chill. my dad is hoping to record another family cd while the whole family is here. and, maybe another vacation to…hawaii?! we’ll seee. hope you’re summer is swell!

random question. why do guys throw their heads back to look “cool” in pictures? the inside of your nostrils is not very attractive.

Today, Sharon and I felt like baking, so we decided to make a recipe we bookmarked a while back from David Lebovitz’s site. This is a French bread called “pain d’épices,” literally translating to “bread of spices,” and it really lives up to its name. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, pepper, anise—when it was baking, the smell of all the spices fusing together filled the house (and my nose). It’s a very simple bread that sneakily hits you with all of the flavors it contains, especially the anise, whose licorice undertone gives the bread a warm and subtle touch. What’s more, the bread doesn’t contain any sugar, but only honey, a natural sweetener. Eat it with jam, toasted with butter, or with some honey—or eat it plain and simple, alone!

it’s funny when you can totally tell when someone is being fake to you. especially when they ask you all these questions to make it sound like they care, but when you’re giving a response, they’re not even listening.

just an observation.
